Programs
Our programs span over a variety of categories focused on the development and
implementation of a comprehensive care model for orphaned and abandoned children
in East African communities.
- Education & Vocational Training
- Community Empowerment & Outreach
- Sustainability Projects
We are working to empower orphans in East Africa by building comprehensive
and sustainable models of care in existing orphanages. This includes providing
vocational training to equip the children with practical and employable skills
while engaging local community leaders in the training program as skill based
volunteers.
At Mama Ngina Children's Home in Nairobi, we are working towards transforming
an existing, vacant building on the property into the vocational center by using
green building techniques. The intention here is to make the facility
sustainable, environmentally conscientious and productive (through a green roof,
rainwater system and community garden). It will be a place that sets an example
for the community, educating children in alternative building techniques,
creativity and recycling, all while providing them with a space to learn and
study employable trades.
